We are thrilled to be continuing our DSOD tradition of excellence as we celebrate 46 years of dance education in the Northland! We pride ourselves on being a big studio with a small-studio feel where we provide a fun, safe and family-oriented atmosphere for our dancers with age-appropriate choreography, costumes and music. We believe dance training is life training, and our students learn not just the fundamentals of dance, but valuable life skills in a positive environment with personalized attention. We started our 2019-2020 classes in September and will conclude the year with our dance recital on May 29th and 30th, 2020 at the Kansas City Music Hall.
DSOD offers a variety of dance classes. 1-hour combination classes for 3-year-olds through 3rd graders consist of tap, ballet, jazz and acrobatics. Children must turn 3 by August 1st and be potty-trained to participate in class in the fall. 1-hour tap & jazz classes are offered to 4th-12th graders. 1-hour jazz classes are offered to 6th-12th graders. 1-hour ballet classes are offered to 4th-12th graders. 30-minute pointe classes are offered to 7th-12th grade DSOD ballet students. Hip hop is offered as a 1-hour specialty class that meets several times throughout the year to 2nd-12th grade current DSOD students who are enrolled in at least one weekly DSOD class.
Our dance year, which starts annually in September and concludes in May, consists of 36 weeks. 32 of these weeks consist of dance classes and the remaining 4 weeks are allotted for Thanksgiving Break, Christmas Break and Spring Break. The DSOD year is divided into four 8-week quarters with tuition due at the beginning of each quarter. Discounts are offered to families with more than one child dancing and to families who have a child taking multiple classes. All enrollment is completed online. New families may enroll by clicking “Account Access” at the top of this page. Follow the instructions for creating an account and enroll for desired classes. Returning families simply log into their existing account to enroll for classes. Once you have enrolled your child in a class, you'll receive an email that says your enrollment is pending. This is to ensure that your child has been placed in the correct class. Next, you receive a confirmation email. You may then make your online payment. Please allow up to 14 days for registration to be processed. A student is considered enrolled when tuition has been received. Payments may be made either through our secure online bill pay system with a credit card or in person with cash. DSOD does not accept checks. Allow 10 business days for cash payment processing. Classes may not be reserved over the phone. Tuition must be paid in full prior to each 8-week quarter in September, November, January and March for a student to be allowed to participate in class. Every account must have a Primary Parent who oversees all activity, updates, etc. The Primary Parent is soley responsible for all charges.
Parking is available in front of the studio.
Parking is also available in the main parking lot.
Avoid parking in front of other businesses.
